If you aren’t from England or don’t watch Lifetime Television, then you may quite possibly have missed one of the best cooking shows around. The friendly threesome of women at the Cook Yourself Thin book show are absolutely delightful as they serve up dish after tasty dish of delectible dining options for weight conscious foodies.
Many of the Cook yourself thin recipes offer all the flavor of much more fattening meal opportunities, while weighing in at significantly lower fat and calorie content.
The show orignally aired in the United Kingdom and quickly built a devoted cult fan following there. Recently, the show was picked up by Lifetime TV and, with the almost concurrent release of the Cook Yourself Thin Book, the show took off and has now amassed a fan following on the US side of the pond as well.
What makes the show so successful is that each of the three hosts has her own distintive style and brings a nice variety to the program. We’ve tried many of the recipies, including fish, meat and our personal favorite, desserts, and without exception, have found them all to be quite satisfying from a “fill me up” perspective, as well as quite delicious!
If you haven’t yet checked out the show or bought the book, it’s definitely worth a try. We believe that Cook Yourself Thin is a real treat!

Buying foreclosed property makes good sense
Five of the top markets have seen a lower number of filings. Michigan’s figures have decreased by just over 4%, California is down by almost 5%, the number of filings in Texas has declined by more than 7%, Florida is down by 8.5% and Arizona has 9% less filings now than in 2008. Colorado has the most impressive improvement, seeing foreclosure foreclosure listing filings drop an impressive 13%. Unfortunately, these promising statistics are not true nationwide. West Virginia, for example, actually had an increase in foreclosures in excess of 17%.
Cities in the states that saw improved numbers of foreclosures are showing great improvement with a smaller number of exceptions to that fact. Phoenix demonstrated that the number of foreclosures decreased by foreclosure listings more than 8%. Foreclosure rates in Memphis fell by almost 12% and Miami showed the most improvement with a 14% drop in filings. Several other cities also saw decreases in their numbers, but these are the most impressive foreclosure statistics nationwide.

Foreclosure rates are high in Maryland. Overall Maryland is weathering the recession better than most other states, but not when it comes to foreclosures.
